Copyrights Should Last Forever:
A Legacy Worth Fighting For!
In solidarity with our CEO, Mark G. Goldstein, renowned multi-platinum record producer Herb Middleton, founder and president of MoonTown Records & Publishing, is taking a stand and speaking out against this injustice. He has been a lifelong advocate for intellectual property rights and the creative arts. Everyone at MoonTown is committed to battling for a framework that respects and safeguards the legacies of artists and their families. MoonTown is spearheading the effort to guarantee that the artists’ creative works will continue to benefit generations of families.
Herb also plans to engage with the artists he has worked with over the years, providing the guidance necessary to help them retain, reclaim, and establish ownership of their intellectual property. He is committed to giving creators the tools and support they need to safeguard their legacies.
A System Rooted in Fairness

The current copyright laws fail to recognize that intellectual property is just as valuable as physical property. Creators and their descendants deserve the same protections for their works as families enjoy for their homes or investments. Allowing intellectual property to fall into the public domain benefits large corporations far more than the public, creating an economic imbalance that transfers wealth from the families of creators to big businesses.
This is not just an economic issue—it is one of fairness and moral rights. As Mark Twain and modern advocates like Mark Helprin have argued, it is unjust and unnecessary for copyright protection to expire.

Copyright Reform
We are pleased to announce that recording artist Mikey D (https://moontownent.com/mikeyd/) will be championing the cause of creators’ rights on behalf of MoonTown, in support of our efforts to amend copyright law for the benefit of all creators (https://moontownent.com/creators-right-movement/). He will serve as our representative to the urban community of songwriters, recording artists, and other creators.
Mikey is passionately participating in a movement that seeks to protect creators’ copyrights in perpetuity because he believes that the artistry and legacy of creators should continue to benefit future generations of their families. As a recording artist and songwriter himself, Mikey understands the struggles creators face in an industry often fraught with exploitation and financial instability. By advocating for stronger copyright protections, he aims to ensure that the hard work and creativity of songwriters and other creators are honored and rewarded, providing sustainable income for their loved ones. Mikey envisions a future where music that touches lives continues to resonate—not only in the hearts of fans, but also as a source of support for the families left behind—preserving the artistic contributions that shape culture for generations to come.
Mikey D has provided the following statement to express his feelings on the matter:
“I’m proudly representing the Creators’ Rights Movement because I genuinely believe that our families deserve to enjoy the rewards of our hard work even after we’ve left this beautiful world. Our intellectual property is a legacy that should be passed down to our loved ones in perpetuity!”
